referrals-header

Referrals Due to increasing referrals and high waiting times, we have made the decision to put a pause on new referrals. We feel this is the right thing to do to ensure all Children and Young people who are currently with Footsteps receive the support they need from our service and not be signposted elsewhere after being on waiting lists. If you are seeking support for a young person please contact the Getting Help team 0300 013 2000

How to organise a referral?

Healthcare Professionals can refer young people to us by emailing the Footsteps referral form to [email protected]. Young people or their parent/guardian should book online or call us on 01642 061047.

We accept referrals for young people residing in any Stockton-on-Tees postcode or those attending schools in this area.

You can access the service yourself or if it is felt to be more appropriate a referral form can be completed by another professional. This could be:
• Your own GP
• Your school
• A youth worker
• A social worker
• A CAMHS practitioner
• A paediatrician

The following people are not suitable for this service:

  • Young people who require urgent care – Please contact NHS111
  • Those who are an immediate risk to themselves or others – Those at immediate risk should call the CAMHS Crisis Team on 0800 0516171
  • Those who are already under the CAMHS service
  • Those with significant mental health disorders requiring Tier 3 services
